about

Engineer, athlete, and perpetual student.

I studied Electrical & Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech, ran the 400m at the D1 level, became treasurer of the powerlifting club, and now work on building and study machine learning systems.

My work sits on high-level ML and the metal underneath it — hand-tuning CUDA kernels, tracing what a transformer actually learned, and using signal theory when the data gets noisy. I like understanding systems all the way down, and writing about them until they make sense.

Outside of that I'm usually working out, on the hiking, on the slopes, or practicing guitar.
